Which Is The Better Choice?
WEIGHT
For a model of the same dimension, alloy wheels are much lighter than steel wheels. This is not only due to the difference in materials used to make the wheel, but also because of the different design process. This reduction in weight will be felt in your vehicle's performance, as the total mass will be reduced. If your goal is to reduce fuel consumption or improve the range of your electric vehicle, it is strongly recommended to opt for alloy wheels.
SOLIDITY
Alloy wheels are significantly stronger than steel wheels due to their conception. Unlike steel wheels, which are made in two welded pieces (rim and face), alloy wheels are designed in a single piece using a mold. Alloy wheels, thus offer increased strength against road hazards.
STYLE
Steel wheels are generally offered in black and almost all have the same design, offering little customization options for your vehicle. On the other hand, alloy wheels are offered in a wide variety of designs, colors, and finishes, allowing you to choose the ideal wheels for your vehicle. Additionally, due to the materials used in their design, alloy wheels do not rust over time, which is not the case with steel wheels.
PRICE
If your goal is to replace a damaged wheel or equip yourself with a spare wheel, steel wheels are the ideal option for you as they are cheaper than alloy wheels. However, if you plan to keep your wheels for several years or want to customize your car, alloy wheels are what you need.
